Is BCCI planning to get MS Dhoni’s place in the Team India’s camp after lockdown?

Cricket Board of India i.e. BCCI will start a camp for the top cricketers of the team for six weeks. There is now speculation about whether the former India captain MS Dhoni will participate in this camp. The BCCI is waiting for a safe time and place for the camp which can be started after the third week of July. In such a situation, it is not decided whether the players will be able to join the camp of their IPL team.

MS Dhoni is being questioned here as he too has been removed from the central contract, but if the camp is held, some players from outside the pool may be included. MSK Prasad, the former chief selector of Team India, said Dhoni could be called if the T20 World Cup happens, but if the bilateral series is played, it would probably be thought differently. I don’t know if T20 will be a World Cup or not, but if it happens, Dhoni will definitely be in the camp. If there is a bilateral series, it will be KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, and Sanju Samson.

On the other hand, Team India’s former fast bowler Ashish Nehra feels that if Dhoni wants to play, he should be in every team. He said that if I was a selector, Dhoni would have been in my team, but the big question is whether he wants to play or not. Does he want to end his career now? If he wants to return to Team India after this, it will be good for Dhoni to play in the IPL.

At the same time, Deepdas Gupta said that the selectors should talk to Dhoni whether he wants to be a part of the camp. If Dhoni will be a part of that camp then it will last for six weeks and it will be beneficial for the next batch as he will get to learn a lot. If their IPL is good, I will not exclude them. If he plays at number four for CSK and scores 500 runs, can you ignore him?

At the same time, a BCCI official said that it would be quite shocking if they become part of the camp. He has not played for almost a year. We do not know what position he is in right now. He is also not in the central contract and was not selected in the squad for the T20 series against the West Indies last year. It would be a surprising decision if they were called to camp.
