The NBA has entered into an agreement with the National Basketball Players Association to withdraw 25% of each player’s salary from May 15, as the game has been called off due to a coronavirus epidemic.
The deal would provide a gradual decrease in the “force majeure” event, such as an epidemic, erasing the remainder of the regular season.
ESPN reported that players are given back if money is saved and if all remaining regular-season games are played.
If only one part of the season can be played, the amount paid will be based on the number of completed games based on pro-rata.
ESPN said the pay cuts would continue during the first two months of the 2020-21 NBA season.
The NBA has not held a game since March 11 and it is unclear when it can return to action.
