Ayodhya Ram temple Donors will get income tax exemption



The preparations for the construction of a grand temple of Lord Sri Rama in Ayodhya are gaining momentum after the Supreme Court’s historic decision. The Narendra Modi government has designated Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirthakshetra Trust as a place of historical importance and public worship for the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya. Due to this, all donors who donate to the trust of this temple will get tax exemption from FY 2020-21. Relief has been provided under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act to those who donated to the Ram Mandir Trust.


Under section 80G of the Income Tax Act, any social, political, and public welfare institution including government relief money, donations or donations is entitled to tax exemption, but this tax exemption is not the same on every charity or charity, but some Meets and conditions according to conditions. Notification regarding Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirthkshetra Trust has been issued by the Union Finance Ministry.

While giving a historic verdict in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute, on November 9 last year, the Supreme Court handed over the disputed 67 acres of land to the Hindu side. The government was directed to allot five acres of land at an important location in Ayodhya for the construction of the mosque. The Government of Uttar Pradesh has complied with it.

The Supreme Court also ordered the central government to establish a trust for the construction of the temple within three months. Subsequently, the Central Government formed the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirthakshetra Trust on 8 February. Its account has also been opened. In this account, till April 2, more than five crore funds have been received as donations. They are being deposited from 11 thousand to one thousand rupees. After the exemption of Income Tax Department, donors will now also increase the amount of donation. The trust will also benefit greatly from this.
