On this day i.e. 27 July 2015, the great scientist of the country, former President APJ Abdul Kalam was assassinated.
Today the entire nation is remembering this favorite president. APJ Abdul Kalam, popularly known as Missile Man, was born on 15 October and died on 27 July 2015 in Shillong, Meghalaya due to a heart attack. At the time, he was lecturing at IIM.
APJ Abdul Kalam was a successful scientist. He worked for many years in the Defense Research and Development Organization and ISRO. Dr. Kalam produced several indigenous guided missiles for India. They built infallible missiles like Agni and Prithvi through Indian technology.
From the year 1992 to 1999, Dr. Kalam was also the Defense Advisor to the Union Defense Minister. During this time, the Vajpayee government conducted a nuclear test for the second time in Pokhran and Hindustan joined the nuclear weapons producing countries.
Kalam was awarded the highest civilian honor of the country, the Padma Bhushan in 1981 and then the Padma Vibhushan in 1990 and the Bharat Ratna in 1997 by the Government of India. Kalam was a born Muslim but did not sincerely believe in any religion. However, he read both the Quran and the Bhagavad Gita.
