A pregnant elephant died accidentally in Kerala. This has been revealed in the primary investigation of the case.
The environment ministry said on Monday that fruits full of firecrackers were not kept to kill an elephant. Many horticultural people keep such fruits to prevent wild legumes from coming into their fields. the pregnant elephant probably ate this kind of fruit by mistake. However, it is illegal to make such an inhuman plan to kill any animal and the government will take action against the culprits.
People are investigating the case and demanding action against the culprits:
Elephants from the Silent Valley Forest in Kerala ate fruits full of firecrackers, which damaged their jaw. For this reason, unable to eat and drink, Hathini lost her life in the Velliyar River after a week. She stood in water for several days to get relief from pain. Later, despite all the efforts of the forest department, Hathini could not be saved.
The post mortem report revealed that Hathini was pregnant. There has been widespread criticism since the matter surfaced. People are demanding an investigation of the case and action on the culprits. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan promised strict action against the culprits. So far one person has been arrested in this incident.

The Union Environment Ministry tweeted that it is in constant touch with the Kerala government. The state government has been asked to arrest the culprits immediately and take strict action against them.
